Car Hoppers Backseat Edition Meaning. It was, perhaps, a desire to also prove they had means that also led lowriders to begin tricking out their Chevys—the.

Just thought I would stop in and say Hi.Nice job on the intro Ulrich.hope things are some what better for You & Yours. I have been lurking occasionally, but not getting too involved on any of the threads.

Been using My time to try and complete My on going projects, with going on 75 this yr. It's taking a lot longer to do the things that came so easy before.never really gave much thought about how age can affect so much and My so called gift shoulder from Vietnam is not helping either. To tell the truth.I never even thought I would make it this far.My Dad died at 61.long time ago. Take Care, All.God Bless! I can't believe it's June already! Frank, hope your shoulder doesn't bother you much. I gotta stop sleeping with an open window-dry throat In the mornings.

Oh, yesterday I picked up a backpack for an upcoming day trip to Altoona on Amtrak. It'll be my first time on a non tourist train.

I'm also overjoyed the penguins won last night, just two more games for the Stanley cup. I'm also glad to see Austin dillon won hos first NASCAR cup race on Sunday-first time in 17 years the '3' Went back to victory lane. The last time was october 2000, by the late Dale Earnhardt Sr.his last win to. The move is going eh.had to hire movers for the heaviest stuff-cobalt and a WV are not good moving cars. Hope everyone has a good day. Good Morning All, I'll have a regular coffee and a blueberry donut please and just sit for a minute. Crazy busy with w.k getting cars to Lime Rock today and Sunday unload/reload for Indy and the open wheel vintage meet there.

Indy will be the start of the U.S. Swing of the Formula Junior Diamond Jubilee Tour which started in 2016 in South Africa then Europe, then Australia and New Zealand in 2017 before coming here.

We are currently overrun with Aussies fixing cars for the tour as we ended up in Invercargill mid February shoved everything in containers not to be seen again until two weeks ago. The container my shop sent from the states didn't get here until noon last Saturday so we're scrambling here even more than the rest. Layout front is still slow but I'm adding interior bits to one of the industrial buildings, streets and fences at the same and trying to get cycled through the power pool to make sure it still operates. Well enough chit chat, gotta get moving. Catch y'all later, J.R. Thanks for the move, Ulrich.

I see several people were talking about the losses in their lives at the end of the last thread. My heart goes out to each of you. I've not experienced the loss of someone close to me (other than pets), so I can only imagine what it feels like. Nonetheless, you all have my sympathies.

Some people were also saying we should try to start off this month's Diner on a cheerier note. Well, this isn't exactly heartwarming, but it is lighthearted.

Today my wife is getting her hair colored for the first time in her 45 years. She had some stripes put in last month as a test, but this time she's going all-out.

And she's going. Whole-head, grape purple. That's her favorite color by far, and she got great response and lots of compliments on her purple stripes earlier, so she's going for it! Combined with her new haircut I think it will be super cute. And it will certainly garner lots of attention at the Bead & Button Show next week. Speaking of next week, I'm going to be off for the show from Wednesday through the following Monday. Dana's going to be keeping an eye on you, and he doesn't know you guys like I do, so be on your best behavior, 'k?

Morning diners, Steven- This coming Wednesday right? Ulrich- Thanks for the video. I thought that little locomotive was a model and not the real thing.

I enjoyed it. Instead of buying new track, I will be using the track I have.

Since I don't have enough money to buy more. The layout design is pretty simple 1 pack #4 left switch, 1 pack 9_3/4 straight track, and 2 pack 12_3/4 curve track. This will be first layout and a practice one until the one I wanted to build earlier this year becomes more available. Steven - your story makes me chuckle!

I remember very well the day my wife discovered her first streak of grey in her hair. She was in tears that day, but began to smile, when I came home with two different bottled remedies - one was a bottle of dye for her (she still uses the same brand) and the other one a bottle of Bayley´s Original Irish Cream, her favorite poison in those days. Actually, the day she discovered she needs reading glasses was much worse - and more expensive, as providing some bottled comfort was not sufficient! Good afternoon. Thanks for opening the June Diner Steven. Well if that is what she wants, that's fine.

I saw your suggestion for not losing coupler springs when replacing them it was on the MR Facebook page. If somebody wants something to do this week end, come to Kentucky for bargain hunting at the 400 mile yard sale. It is along US 68 from Paducah through Cadiz, Hopkinsville, Bowling Green, Lexington and northeast into Ohio. Driving along that highway will be challenging as cars ahead of you may suddenly stop to pull off the highway for a yard sale. They do this every year during the first weekend of June.

Afternoon Diners Flo, Ed, Jan, Brent and I will have a Irish Cream with a chaser please. Day Off And Blood Sugar Front. Got up late and tested my blood around 9:00 AM. I was at 195 which is way high, but I ate real late so maybe that is why? Had 3 eggs (no carb's) and.20 section of a bratwurst so maybe.50 of a carb?

Did my running and got home around 2:00 PM. Had nothing to eat and was drinking water. Tested my blood again, it was 181 and again way to high? Well I felt good and did two hours of yard work. That should lower the sugar count!!

I was stunned when I saw 2 hours later it was up to 193? Not a dang thing to eat and was drinking water the whole time? Well the good news is I have some reading's and facts about what is going on next week when I go to the VA to see the Dietitian next week! Give Ken (and anyone else who wants it) a double of the really prime aged (three weeks) oh be joyful! Ken, Bread, pastery, chips, about all junk food, is a no-no for me.

Since I cook, and make yeast rolls, bread, cookies--this is especially hard. I have also found that when working, cutting firewood especially, will drive my blood sugar up. It is also elevated when I get up.

I would say in the morning, but I usually get up around 1300, don't turn in until 0300-0400. Today it was 152 when I rolled out, after eating last night it was 199, results of two slices of Italian bread, and a slice of chocolate cream pie. Won't do that again for awhile. I have a older brother, in his 90s, with the same condition--he is still very active, gardens. Drives a shaft drive BMW he rebuilt three years ago--wears a helmet so cops cant see how old he is, biggest downfall is butter pecan ice cream---he will transgress twice a month or so. Calls it his Rewards system. I wonder about the people who complain when their blood sugar is 'high' at 97---when I was 11 perhaps.

It is a constant watch, I have found things that I thought weren't bad, are-and vice-versa. Once you find a food that drives it off the chart best to avoid, or eat very spareingly. Rewards system.! Oh!----Weight loss, went from 296 to 204, target is 168, same as when I got out of boot camp. Evenin' folks! Janie, just a cup of decaf for me at the moment, please.

Well, Ken and Herrinchoker, you guys make me feel real good about my readings today. Was 115 for me when I rolled out of bed this morning. That is very low for me when I get up.

Usually 135 or higher. Doc says don't worry about it as it is likely from the shot of glucose the liver hits us with to say 'Wake-up Time'. Lunch was a bunch of odds and ends I had in the fridge.

Way over did it as there was a lot of odds and ends in there. Tonight I kinda just snacked for supper. Had a couple slices of Turkey Breast, some fresh fruit cup, and a chocolate bar for desert. Later had a couple of candies I shouldn't have, and just took my reading and it was 151. Not too bad actually for being very bad today. About a year after my wife died, I had put on 90lbs. Topped the scale at 320lbs.

I am now finally back to within a couple of lbs. Of what I weighed 30 years ago (about 235). Would like to take off another 10/15 though. Had a very funny incident happen when I stopped at the Post office to buy some stamps for the NMRA. When I got there the only place in front of the PO empty was a handicapped one and I figured that the local Police would be right around the corner to catch me. I turned onto the side street, and there were about 3 empty spaces right near the side (handicapped) ramp going into the building, so I pulled up and backed into one of them. As soon as I got out of the Volt, I see an elderly (Probably 90 or so) gentleman making his way down the ramp very slowly and intently staring at my car.

He looked over at me and said something. Since I was across the street I told him to hold on, I would be right over. When I got over to him he said, 'What kind of car is that?'

I told him it was a chevy Volt and that it is a Plug In Hybred Electric Vehicle but mostly uses electric. He looked at me and then at the car and said, WOW!!! Had a whole bunch of questions about how efficient it is and such. In the mean time he kept going down to his little electric scooter he uses to get around. I informed him he was already 'with it' using an electric vehicle. Got a laugh and a big grin.

Did some grocery shopping after the Post Office and then filled up the Volt with Fossilized Dinasaur Dung so I can drive around Rochester on Saturday without having to find a charging station (There actually are several right near the church the Meet is in, But I have to unload a car full of stuff for the meet and I don't want to have to haul it a block or two and down the elevators at the Garage.) I was running on fumes as they say. Cost me $12.40 to fill the tank. I was down to one bar on the fuel guage and needed to fill up before Saturday. Ok, so I did have 60¢ off a gallon from the grocery store promotion. Still $12.40 to take me another 1000 miles ain't bad!

The tank is all of 8.9 Gallon. I needed 6.8 to fill it. Have a great night out there and stay safe! Thanks for the move to the JUNE Diner, Ulrich! I really can't recall the last time I was in Tasmania? Must have slept through the stop. I hope you enjoy the Amtrak trip to Altoona, Jimmy.

I have done that several times myself and always enjoyed it. I really miss the daytime #43 & 44 that used to serve Cleveland and points west. Frank, I was just editing some photos of the old GE plant I spent almost 40 years with. Whenever I see truck photos I think of you. A nice Chain-drive Mack!

Look at that neat 'waterfall' grille up front! And a 'modern' COE GMC! I have been working on making a commemorative DVD with hundreds of photos of the plant over the years for the 'last fling' gathering before the place closes later this year. June and the temperature in N-E Ohio now is 49°F!! Today is National Doughnut Day in the U.S. Doughnuts for everyone, on the house!

Good Afternoon! Zoe, coffee and one of the doughnuts Steven brought along, please! What a 'sweet' gesture, Steven - thank you! I am not having a good day, but that virtual donut ma help to cheer me up a little. I had a dreadful pain attack last night, nearly completely immobilizing my right side. As I am not allowed to take Ibuprofen, I had to 'ride it out'. It´s not gone, but I can move around, providing I am careful.

This year, Petra is growing red chili peppers on the window sill and the first few are getting ready for the harvest. These little devils are really hot! Petra dries them and we use them for making Petra´s own special Mexican chili - yummy!

Have a great day! Ulrich I'v got moles I read elsewhere they can tunnel 15' and hour!! The water is cold near you (and me) and Mary Lee, the great white shark, in on the prowl and headed your way! Spent 2 day looking for my outside braced Walthers B&O boxcar. It wasn't were I last saw it nor anywhere else I looked.

I did some airbrush weathering on 9 of my rolling stock. It just made sense to assembly line it and give everything a very dilute light gray wash, followed by grimy black and dust. I have not done rust by brush but I need to do that on all these cars. The shark track comes from this site These sharks put on some mileage. Sort of like my moles. Henry, Had my 1/4ly with Dr.

Today, yesterdays blood draw revealed my Cholestrol was 112, HDL was 42, Triglycerides 142, LDL 42, CHOL/HDL 2.7. Can I try some of that famous apple pie? Literally just got back to the east coast back in DC. I have an funnnn meeting Monday morning at 0800hrs (awesome, right?) so instead of going all the way home I'm crashing with a friend for the weekend. I think while she's working, I'll be working on my tan by the community pool. Hope everyone had a good week/week and a half since I've been gone!

Had an awesome time up in Seattle. Really productive conference with crew from all over. Anyways boys and girls. I'm one tired pup tonight, laters taters!

Afternoon diners (morning here) I have a large cuppa of green tea thanks Right in my own backyard and across the straight in TAS thankyou Ulrich. W*#k bonkers enough said its where the money comes from for me to buy trains food and other needs. Life well a diet overhaul, after being sick with gastroe for two weeks I went and saw the naturopath and got tested, I'm not far short of a vegetarian going by blood type being A+ but I can still have meat being lamb and fish (no shell fish). Had to kick the coffee dammit had a coffee withdrawl hangover, now I just have to figure out a my meals and plan a diet a bit better.Overall feeling better for it. I currently in the process of becoming a yoga teacher, love the yoga and thought why not become a yoga teacher.

Weekend just been I've learnt alot about human anatomy and many other things that go with it, that and yoga brings my stress leve down for me. Yoga is not for everyone but it works for me. Railroad front gotta go and buy the Qaurter2 so I can get one mikado *** berkshire so I can qaurter and reassemble and complete the loco and make progess to getting it complete hopefully before the end of the year.

Been building some South Austrailian Railways four wheel wagons and some bogie wagons (whilst being sick) all from kits, to swell the wagon fleet for the layout. A 720 berkshire looks jolly nice with a decent load behind it. Good Evening, We had a hot one today with a record breaking 91F and humidex of 96F. Right now we are under a severe thunderstorm watch. A busy day doing yard work despite the heat.

I don't know how you fellows who get such temperatures often cope with the heat. My wife and I struggle with it. I certainly wouldn't move to a hot climate. Nothing happening on the RR front. I haven't even run a train in several weeks. In Canada a different measurement is used for cholesterol so I don't understand the significance of the values some of you have been posting.

Well soon time for bed as I am very tired after working outside in the heat today. Good evening from the clear and cool West Coast. Ken, Thanks, all those beers have been helping to take the edge off, while watching our dog, fight for her life. The good news is she has come through the worst of it by the skin of her tennis ball and is on the mend. Terminator 3 Crack Free Download more. It was really touch and go for three long days, but she made it. Seeing as how we are in Tasmania I have ordered up a keg of 'XXXX GOLD'. When I have been to Australia, it seems to be the beer of choice.

So the beer is on me until the keg is empty. Looking forward to going into Vancouver tomorrow with #1 son to see the Vancouver Whitecaps play Atlanta. They are our major league soccer franchise. Not sure how many games we will get to this Summer as my son is pretty much booked up for movie/TV stuff for the whole summer now.

The phone was going crazy today as he was getting calls to firm up a three to six-week shoot on this. It should let him live in real comfort through this University year. The whole shoot is about 30 minutes from home, so that is a real plus, especially for those 17 hour days. All the best to all. Can't believe I hadn't managed to stop in until today. Just been busy between w*rk and all the other things that I try to do on the Internet.

Slowly managing to get all my projects done and I have a whole bunch of items coming in order to get those projects done. If I have evrything planned right, all the stuff that comes on Monday should get me down to one car that I actually have. (I still have three more caboose in the plan.) As some of these projects have been sitting for quite awhile, that is saying something. Morning Crew, Chloe, I'll have my Double Denver with home fries, toast and P.B. With choclate milk. Please and thanks.

Frry Kid, I was past your area this past week. We were at my Youngest Son's wedding in Billings this past Sunday and all had a great time. It was a wonderful Garden Wedding with everything in bloom and the weather broke just in time as it had been cloudy, raining and windy till just before the cerimony started, then it was an absolutley gorgeous evening.

We passed through your city on Wednesday shortly after lunch, got home around 8:00 in the evening. It was quite an Honor to be asked by your Son to be his Best Man and especially at my age. The last time I was a B.M.

Was 51 years ago and we just laid that fine lady to rest a month ago. Garry, I see you and your wife are on the move again, just like I had been kidding you about. One could never visit you as you are hardly ever home. Don't see how you get time to work on that great layout of yours.

Here's wishing you Happy and safe miles on your trip. Ulrich and CudaKen, sure sorry to here you guys are down in the dumps right now. I know it's not much fun as I have been there. But keep working at getting your chin up as things will improve, maybe not to the extent that it was or that you would like but to a better spot that is easier to put up with. That is where I am now and getting quite used to it, and am content most of the time. I finally got the proper observation car for my C.Z.

It is BLI, and very beautiful. It is hard to come by and the train just doesn't look right with out that observation car with the Dome, radio ant. And high tail light. Thats about it for now, hope you all have a great week end. Will stop in again soon. Thanks Chloe, lunch was great.

Johnboy out...till then. Evenin' Folks! Janie, I could use a pot of dark roast decaf, some fresh fruit salad, and a couple of the buttercream filled donuts left over on the counter.

Yeah I know that is a weird supper, but it is all that seems to appeal to me at the moment. Brent, glad to hear your dog is on the mend! Hope she continues to improve and will be none the worse for wear very soon! Last night I noticed a message on my home phone right before the time I needed to head to bed. The message was from the daughter of my late wife's best friend when we lived in Waverly, NY where I started my teaching carreer. I decided to wait to call her back until after I got home from the NMRA Meet today. Talked with her for about half an hour catching up on some family stuiff.

She had called to let me know her Mom died last February. She and her husband have spent considerable time cleaning out her Mom's house and getting it ready to sell. One thing she kept was her mom's old address book, and was letting those who knew her well the news. Shelly, the daughter, was also a student of mine when I taught elementary music there way back when. The mother died of complications of cancer over a several year period. Had a stroke, heart disease, and finally an infection took her. She was only 76.

Told Shelly that just doesn't sound old anymore. I will pass the info on to my son's tonight. The lady was my oldest son's Cub Scout Den Leader, and her son was best friends with my kid.

The daughter and my youngest son were friends and playmates when they were very young as well. My wife and the lady both played in a world class Handbell Choir from the Methodist Church there. It was good to hear Shelly and chat with her. Just wish it wasn't bad news..

NMRA Meet went very well today. Had about 50 people attending. All of the mini clinics went over well. All of our officers have been elected to fill out the rest of this term of office. (that sounds funny, but at the last election we didn't have a quarum and we had a motion from the floor for us to stay as a team in office until the Divisions Move to the Northeastern Region of the NMRA was completed). I did announce that I plan to step down as Superintendent in the Fall of 2018. A decade in the office is quite enough.

I have threatened to still hang around and be 'Helpful' (or annoying) depending on your point of view for some time after that. I would hope to remain as a member of the Advisory Board and continue as editor of our newsletter. My clinic went over quite well and I enjoyed seeing some peoples reactions to seeing the exact same photo but with different lighting. I used a projector. Basically I presented three different things. Color Temperature, CRI (Color Rendering Index as it pertains to color Temperature ), and Lumens (the intensity of the lighting).

I related lighting to the use of good lighting in places like Museums, Art Galleries, Theaters, and Grocery Stores. The lights in the meat case are quite specilaized to make the meat look really red and tasty like Lion wants it. One guy said, 'As opposed to the icky brown color when you unwrap it in your kitchen'.

I grinned and said, 'Exactly'. I also mentioned that hospitals are very particular in some lighting like the Neo-natal areas.

One of the wives lit up as she knows of a premature infant that survived, in part due to specialized lighting. The conclusion for many was that lighting may be just as important to how your layout looks as the quality of modeling. I told them your one liner about the two photos I placed on here. Got some good laughs! Sun is starting to set, here in the Fingers Lakes, as I look outside and the color temperature at the moment appears to be about 3000°K. Have a great one!

Evening Diners Flo, Ed, Brent, Jan and I will have a please. Give Johnboy anything he wants. Sort of a job front. I should not have time to read 100 pages at work on a Saturday! Had 5 customers in 8 hours. Sold 3 $126.00 twin mattress and one $200.00 futon mattress? That sure not going to make a house payment!

Johnboy Thanks for the concern. While I realized was not going to make $50,000 year shortly after I was hired. (did at Mattress Giant) I never dreamed it would get as bad as it had this year! Thing quickly went down hill shortly after Jan 20th 2017. OK, I had a great Feburay, but that was from last years income taxes. ATF On the Rail Front!

I am amazed how well it is still working on the short line! Still have yet clean any wheels after 4 month pluse!

The Pickey Walthers PK 2000 SD 7 Bessmer will go around the layout at speed step 1 with out stalling! I am turly amazed! It's been a pretty good week in my little world of trains. This past Thursday the mailman delivered the latest addition to my collection of locomotives for railroads that operate now, or have in the past, in Western Pennsylvania. This one is an SD40-2 from Bowser painted for the Wellsboro & Corning Railroad.

The collection now has 40 of these railroads represented with an addional one to be added within the next few weeks, I hope. It's a pre-ordered GP16 from Intermountain painted for the Everett Railroad.

When I started this collection, I didn't realize there were so many railroads or that there would be this many available in HO. A costly misjudgement to say the least. I also began with the assumption that I would only purchase 1 locomotive for each railroad, but that plan derailed rather quickly. After all, take the PRR with their Baldwin Sharknose, Centipede, E8, etc.

Then there are the locomotives that don't fit in the collection at all, but for various reasons it became necessary to obtain them as well. Talking about the Southern, US Army, CN, etc. Okay, I admit it's an addiction, but a fun one. Now if someone would come out with the Nittany & Bald Eagle and a couple of others, it would make me even more happier. Got in a couple hours of railfanning today. 10 trains in 4 hours. Not as good as last week, but not bad either.

Nothing special today though. Well, except for the fact that another railfan who frequents the same area showed up today & we had a nice chat. Haven't seen him for a couple of weeks, & we were getting a little concerned as he is in his mid-eighties. But everything was okay, he was just taking a break. Hope everyone has a nice weekend. Good Evening, Another balmy day here in the far north. Well we think it is south but then again everything is relative.

Brent, glad to hear your dog is improving. We have Westies and I can relate when one gets sick. You mention a while back about wanting to see Victoria Falls. My wife and I saw it on our 2013 trip to South Africa. It is truly an amazing sight and one you will never forget. They even run a steam powered dinner train that stops on the bridge. We didn't take it as my wife doesn't like bridges.

Well soon time for East Enders so I best get the tea ready. Yes, we leave in the morning. We're hauling the SeaDoo up to Michigan, and I have the trailer already hitched to the truck. Trailer wheel bearings are greased; tires are okay; and hopefully we have no troubles. Our oldest granddaughter had her 16th birthday today. We will see her (as well as our son, daugher-in-law, and another granddaughter) in Ohio on our way to Michigan.

Sadly, my model railroad friend here has some more bad news regarding his cancer of esophagus and stomach. I'm very worried. I'll check in via cell phone when I can over the next week.

Just heard the news of an attack in London. Mentioning caulking guns reminds me of what I do with mine. As my layout is in an unheated building, anything water-based does not stay up there year round. The chaulking gun always ends up sitting on my old desk in my bedroom at home (on the ranch). That seems to be a good place and I don't have to worry about anyone disturbing it. Additionally, that way I don't have to worry about transporting it back and forth. Hobby Front: Took tommorow off from work and plan to get six freight cars finished.

(A 40' combo car needing to finish some weight decals and a reweight date and 5 coal hoppers that need the logos put on them.) I do have all the decals I need for those projects. However, I should be getting a bunch of hobby stuff soon. Decals for a boxcar and the caboose projects, a set of trucks for one of the cabooses (the model didn't come with the right kind), some Decal Set and some model cement. The tracking says Monday but where the packages are with said tracking makes me think that they won't, but we shall see.

If they come Monday, I should be able to get the boxcar in question done so that it can also go to the layout and get one more project out of my hair. Good Morning! Sunday - time for a late, but big breakfast, German style! Flo, make that two oven-fresh rolls, butter, jams, honey, slices of Dutch cheese, ham, two soft-boiled eggs, a glass of OJ and lots of coffee, please! We had a terrific thunderstorm last night, dumping masses of water on us.

Lots of lightning - about every 30 seconds - for 4 hours, all of it in the sky. A spectacular, but also frightening sight! Now it´s ra*ning and rather unpleasant.

I am still not out of the doldrums and that grey weather is certainly adding to it. Prayers for the victims of the London terrorist attack of last night! Will it ever end? Evening Diners Flo, Ed, Jan, Brent and I will have a please. Work Front Again a slow but this time a good day for a change! While I only had 3 customers all 3 bought.

2 of them said they wanted to shop around, but I got the deal's done! Store had $2025.00 in sales and I made a extra $115.00 in spiffs so I feel good tonight. Blood Surgar Front. Lowest reading yet with 106 at 7:30 AM! Had 3 eggs and a sausge link at 9:00 AM then at 12:00 my reading was 165. Had 1/2 of can of spinach (6 carbs) at 1:30 PM.

Checked agin at 3:00 PM and was at 160. Ate the rest of the spinach at 3:00 PM. When I got home at 6:00 PM I was down to 138! I know, I know Ray, still way to high! But I had been in the 250 range for sometime so it is getting better!

Might Strange Might B&O F7's. Hum, did some testing tonight and found the B unit is making sound. I thought only the A unit was making sound?

Both engines sound is very dirty sounding? Will try a new speaker in the A unit and see of that cures the racket! After that I will E-Mail BLI and see what they think. Ever wonder if you had all the money you wanted what would you live in? Then things went to heck in the hand basket what would happen? For some reason I have started watching videos about abandoned Mansions and found this!

Cannot believe someone needed this sizes house! Busy, busy, busy.

Been sticking my head in the diner frequently, but haven't had a chance to come in and eat for well over a month. Been busy tonight, but I needed some special equipment, and the person who was supposed to bring it to me showed up for work 40 minutes late. Once he shows up I'll be back on the proverbial treadmill.

I continue to add to the list rolling stock collection, but the layout has had zip, nada, none, zero progress. Too much yard work, house work, etc. My missing equipment just showed up, so back on the Rd for me. Morning all Been very busy again at w**k. Lot to do, not enough help. Hobby barn - This coming week we will finish the siding - thank God! I hate being on an extension ladder especially 20+ feet in the air!

Had a scare this week, I had the carpenter helper holding the bottom of the ladder so it didnt slde out while I was at the top of the ladder near the peak of the roof. While at the peak I looked down and the caprnters helper was pushing so hard on the ladder he was actually bowing out about a foot - upon seeing this I yelled down - STOOOPPPP!!!!!

Yep, for a minute or two I thought here was going to be a major accident involving me!!! Pheww, I hate ladder work! Hope to get back in here more often, its summer and construction is at full tilt trying to get things done while the weather is decent.

Afternoon Diners, YGW- I'm glad that your okay. I was wondering about hobby barn since there was no updates. As promised I have some pictures. Testing the track plan with a small local. Theirs also a auto rack intermodal train and Amtrak. Here's the layout being secured outside. I had it outside one night so the caulk can hold on to.

I cut the foam afterwards earlier in the morning yesterday and stored it under the bed. Now I'm planning for a few months ago about getting a bed skirt. To show the dogs that no trespassing beyond that point when toys try to go under or themselves. Here's an interesting story I found in response to a question from a reader. You might have seen this photo before on the Internet, usually with some kind of 'haw haw those morons don't know how trains work' comment. I did a reverse image search on the picture, and turned up. Turns out it was staged by some firefighters in Belgium as a joke.

Apparently, after putting out a small fire, the firefighters thought it would be funny to stage this photo and share it to Facebook. It got thousands of shares all over the world.

Turns out they weren't so dumb, after all. The page does include a video, though, of what happens to firefighers who DON'T take proper precautions around train tracks.

As Paul Harvey used to say, 'And now you know... Of the story...... Evening Diners Flo, Ed, Jan, Brent and I will have a please. Work sort of Front. Well I had a good nap and got some reading done! Had a POS Lay-A-Way with $20.00 down. But that is OK, the Lady had two things I really enjoyed looking at and I was content!

O-scale B Units! Blood Surgar Front.

Tuesday I am either drink De Caff Coffee or maybe none at all. Readed another study on coffee on rasing blood sugar.

Sounds like that maybe what I have happening. It would suck if I have to give up but if it helps? Ed that photo sure out a smile on my faces! You have ideas on the dirty sound from the B&O's?

I only opened the A-Unit and missed wired it speaker, not the B Unit. Flo or whoever happens to be handy: Could I get my standard late night order of breaded mushrooms with blue cheese dressing and some raspberry iced tea? Thank you so much. Hobby Front: Latest batch of projects.

(Some finally finished after quite awhile.) As I hoped, all the supplies that I had hoped to get showed up on Monday. One of the second batch of five BN coal hoppers. These go with the first batch of five which was constructed in 2015. Both batches are MDC/Roundhouse Thrall Gondolas. These five started out as Union Pacific lettered purchased this spring.

I used 2000-grit sandpaper to remove the old lettering as the paint stripper I tried didn't do anything to the lettering. Both batches are equipped with Adair Shops weight kits. Both batches used a lot of different decal sets (all Microscale): 87-251, 87-1377, MC-5002, MC-4280, MC-5033 (on non-pictured side of car) and MC-5034. The second batch used the 80' logos from the 251 set and required the logos I didn't use from the first set of cars as they were already lettered for BN. Paints used on the second batch are Humbrol 33 (on the weights inside) and 34. The first batch used Tamiya paints. This second batch are equipped with Kadee 148 couplers.

I presume the first batch uses #5s. (Those were already equipped with couplers when I bought them.) The only issue I have with this second set is I haven't found a set of loads in my budget for this second batch. This is a model of an NP 40' combo box car. It is what I was told is an Accurail car. (bought on eBay.) The walkway was removed and the holes plugged. The sill was also fixed as it was notched rather than the even in the prototype.

The endrails were replaced with custom bent.020 wire. The stirrup steps were also replaced with some Detail Associates ones (6414) as the originals were too big. The stock scheme on the car was the original for the car, which was too old for my era. It was repainted in Model Master British Crimson. (Suggested match for the old Floquil/Polly Scale Red Oxide.) The decals are a combination of the following sets (again all Microscale): MC-4109 (which is OOP. Another rare eBay find.), 87-37, 87-1377, MC-5002, and MC-4280. The light weathering is done with Humbrol RC 402.

The couplers are Kadee 148's. This is another NP 40' car. This one is a Roundhouse release. I've had this one since last fall. The color is stock. The sill was also changed as the prototype was straight.

The walkway was removed and the holes plugged with a set of Details Associates 6224 Roof Plugs. The logo was changed to the larger one as the stock was the smaller one of the older scheme. The repainting was done with a mix of GN Glacier Green and some White.

(I had previously has a nightmare finding the right color.) The reporting marks and weight data was replacced as the font was wrong. The end numbers were also redone. The NP lettering was left intact as I decided I could llive with it. The item centered under the car is a cleaner unit from eSPee-Track-Cleaners.

(Yet another eBay item.) Decal Sets used: Microscale MC-4109 (the end numbers and some of the road number), 87-37, and Herald King's ACI Set. If memory serves, the couplers are 148s, too. I still have one more caboose project, which is waiting for paint, which is also on order. Afternoon Diners, That was a funny joke, Steven.

I'm being feeling a sad. After posting yesterday and realized one of my friends left. I dunno what happened other than my short bio. Me and them had the same name and lives in NYC.

What happened to people being friends when some or all of them don't share the same interest. I don't have that many friends ( I used to until I went to college and they stop communicating.) My true friends are Thomas toys that Bachmann makes. I'll be off line until I little better. Maybe two to three days at the most. Deep Subject. Evenin' folks! Anybody here?

Oh, Hi Janie! Glad to see the place is still open. Pretty slow day here I guess. I could use a cup of decaf about now before I head to bed. Been a long day.

Had to get up early and give Blackie his insulin about an hour early (and get their morning food) as I had to be at my sister's house about the time I normally get out of bed. I had the 'honor' of transporting her to the Rochester Airport so she coud head to a college friends house down in South Carolina. She goes down there to harass, ah, see them every Spring.

They never come up here though. Guess who also gets the 'honor' of taking care of her cats while she is down there correcting all their misconceptions about the world at large??? I really don't mind as I do enjoy her kitties and it gets me away from the house several times for the week she is gone. My SIL who was a best friend of hers in High School will be filling in for a couple days as well.

Later in the day, I got two of the three large raised bed gardens rototilled with the small electic tiller I have and built a screen for the bed that has the peas in it. Seems that the dern Bunny Rabbit living under the shed had lunch on my newly sprouted peas sometime in the last few days!!! Anyone have a recipe for Hosenpfepper? Anyway, I took some old screen left over from when I first built the raised bed gardens (for underneath) and created a fence around the small bed.

Will see if that works. The string beans and the onions are doing fine.

Bought a quart of white paint so I can paint some door molding trim for at the top of the basement steps and get it finally installed. The moulding has been sitting down cellar for about 15 years or so waiting for me to get around to cut, paint, and install it. It now has the first coat of paint and I will give it a second tomorrow. Plan to install it on Thursday. I even got a couple feet of track ballasted down there this evening.

Hope you all have a great evening! Good evening all.

Zoe - A nice slice of apple pie, and a Coke please. Ken - Hope your sugar issue gets better!

YGW - Getting more and more done I see. Frrykid - Nice job on the projects.

Ulrich - Hope all is well, and enjoyed the train vids the past few weeks. Angelob - Hang in there! Hello to all the others I have missed. Weather - Damp, and cool(ish).

65-70 today, and tomorrow. Warming up for the weekend though. W**k - Decent day today, but the truck was a royal pain. They double stacked a bunch of stuff, and the yard tractor was shoved up against the trailer wall. The tractor pallet then broke halfway into the building. One of those days.

Trains - Saw a very interesting mixed freight the other day on NS. It contained two log cars (in NW PA!?!), coil cars, standard box cars, covered hoppers, two TopGon cars, covered hoppers, a few bathtub gons, several gons filled with scrap, tank cars, a single autorack, and a string of empty well cars, followed by more mixed freight cars of mixed box, covered hoppers, and tanks. Too bad I wasn't recording this! And, now, for the joke tonight. Steve - I see your 'reading dog' and raise you a blonde. (Apologies to any blondes in the diner.

Nothing personal, just your standard blonde joke.) 'A blonde, brunette, and a red-head, robbed a bank. The police were hot on their trail, when the three of them ran into a barn, and hid in potato sacks. When the police entered the barn, they couldn't see the three suspects, only three potato sacks. Three officers, splitting up, went to each of the sacks. The first officer using his baton, tapped the sack in front of him. It had the brunette. The brunette, thinking fast, started meowing and hissing.

The second officer also tapped the sack in front of him, and the red-head, also thinking fast, started barking and growling. The third officer, following the lead of the first two, also tapped the sack in front of him.

This one contained the blonde, and the three were captured. Well, the blonde, also thinking fast. (Dramatic pause here.) Yelled.

Yes, I will leave now. Hope all are well, and all have a good night!

Good evening to all. Been really busy so far this month as I am trying to paint the house again. It has been seven years and the old dutch milled siding only seems to retain paint for about seven years and then starts to peel. Frank was lamenting about getting things done when you are 75 yrs old.

I will be there in about eight weeks. YGW doesn't like working off tall ladders. Seven years ago it was no big deal but now I really feel it in my knees when I climb. So far the painting has been confined to a seven ft. My 28 ft extention ladder is at more daughter's house fully extended with the rope rotted off. It is going to be a chore getting it down on the ground safely. My step-mother passed away Monday at 93 yrs.

We had been expecting her passing as she has had severe dementia for some time. Heading for northern Iowa for the funeral this Saturday. On a happier note the wife and I are celebrating our 50 wedding anniversary this coming weekend. To celebrate we are taking a two week tour of England. Looking forward to seeing where my ancestors came from as all of my father's side of the family were of English decent. One of the places I am looking forward to visiting is the British Railway Museum in York.

Time for some zzz's Jim. Congratulations on reaching the 50 year milestone.

There are many couples that don't reach that milestone. My parents reached their 43rd in April. Flo or whoever happens to be handy: Could I get a creme de menthe (non-alcholic, of course) ice cream sundae with some graham crackers crumbled in it? (Just sounds good tonight for some reason.) Thank you so much. Hobby Front: A few more projects that I was able to complete this afternoon with befores and afters. Among the items I got yesterday was a set of Woodland Scenics retaining walls that had been on the order list for quite awhile.

I got a base coat of the paint that I use for my retaining walls (Apple Barrell Sndstone acrylic paint). Originally, I was only going to use two of the three but I decided to use all three on the curve. The retaining are glued to the foam with some Liquid Nails construction adhesive.

I will need to put another coat of paint on the walls come next week. The other project I was able to get finished was to push a coat of what I term 'mush' on one of my hills. (For those who have been here awhile know what I am talking about. For those who don't, 'mush' is ground up newspapers.) Took three batches to finish this. On one of them, I actually temporarily 'broke' the blender.

The gear that mounts to the blender base to drive the blade came off. Thankfully I found the gear on the floor under the layout and was able to reinstall it. The other thing that sometimes I have commented on is the amount of cars and engines that I have collected over the years. I decided to take a picture of the table where I keep most of the equipment. (There are some items that are sitting on the layout and aren't kept on the table. Four switchers and about 8 freight cars.) I have no idea how long this table has been on the ranch. It was used for a business that operated at the ranch for many years.

(Ironically enough, the building where I have my layout was built as part of that business.) We left that business in the early 90s. This is at least the second life of this table and I have had it for around 25 years.

(I hijacked it and no one ever said a word about it.) Nothing spectacular, but it does the job. Ignore the lamp sitting on the car boxes. The lamp is probably even lighter than some of the cars and engines that I have.

That's another thing that I've had forever. For exactly how long, I don't remember!

(Although if memory serves, I think that was something that my late Grandmother got for me. She passed in 2001 and I'd had it for a few years before that.). Good Morning! No signs of Summer in my neck of the woods. After a short spell of nice and reasonably warm weather, wer are back to the usual wet & windy 'Schietwedder', which is so typical for northern Germany. I could certainly use some nicer weather to drag me out of the dumps, in which I seem to be anchored down firmly now.

I don´t seem to participate in life, with nothing to look forward to. James - congratulations to the '50'. Petra and I are only two thirds down that road, which seems to be already a rare achievement in today´s 'modern' partnerships - something we called marriage a generation ago. My parents made it up to 62 years. On the club front, the Barrie Allandale Railroad Modellers now officially have a new club house!!! The lease is signed and the necessary insurance has been arranged. We will pick up the keys on Wednesday or Thursday.

We have arranged to move the majority of our stuff on the Saturday after next. The next few weeks will be interesting. We don't have a layout plan yet. There is some support for modelling the Barrie Allandale station and surrounding trackage as part of the layout. The station is a beautiful turn of the century structure which has been restored to its original glory. The main reason for modelling the Allandale Station is that there might be an opportunity in the future to move the club into the station, so if we have a model of the area trackage that might add to our attractiveness as a tenant. The layout need not be limited to just the Barrie Allandale station.

In fact, limiting the layout to just the station and surrounding tracks would likely make for a rather boring layout operations wise. We would be much further ahead to model the trackage both north and south. To the north there is the major shipping port of Goderich, as well as the CN and CP tracks that went to Sudbury. To the south there is the Holland Marsh which is famous for its vegetable growing and which was heavily serviced by railroad in its heyday.

Further south again is Toronto. The possibilities there are endless. In fact they are daunting! Things are looking up for the club! As some of you are aware, for a long time we have been trapped in a horrible situation where there was no room and the fumes and the dust from the woodworking shop we were housed in were often intolerable.

Onward and upward!! (with a reasonable grade of course!). Thanks for listening! Dave - Good luck with the clubs new location. Has there been any progress on new officers? Garry - Have a safe trip & enjoy yourselves. Later this morning I'm taking the wife down to Wheeling Island Casino.

We haven't been there for some time, and she does enjoy the slots. I do too, but I enjoy the buffet even more.

With her limited vision, it's one of the few things she can do without a lot of assistance. We have been going to casinos for about 10 years now. Mostly we have played on their money. Right now I think we are about $200 in the hole. Not bad when you consider the cost of other avenues of entertainment.

Now let's see if I'm still this optimistic when we come home this afternoon. Speaking of entertainment, the wife has had season tickets to the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera for over 30 years.

But she gave them up this season. I think she wasn't able to see much of anything that was happening on stage, & the tickets were getting pricey. I figure I can use that money & let her play the slots. I think we will both miss the productions though.

Congratulations to all those coming up to their 50th anniversarys. We are closing in on the 55th in a couple of years. It's been a good run & I was extremely lucky the day I first spotted her. Just got back from a whirlwind trip to NYC and San Antonio. I had a conference there last Tuesday through Friday; flew back to Houston, then drove to San Antonio because my wife had a coaching clinic there through Sunday.

Got to see the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, and took a harbor tour. Lots of good food. Rode the subway. Lots and lots and lots of people. Everything is expensive. Went to Red Caboose hobbies; it was an interesting shopping experience, to say the least. Saw several things I wanted to buy, but they were stapled to displays or walls with construction staples. Did find a couple of Santa Fe passenger cars I needed, so I didn't walk away empty handed. Spent a couple of hours at Dibbles in San Antonio; found detail parts and some HO and N cars that I think I needed.

Ate some good Italian and Mexican food, and got some rest. Been catching up at work this week. It does not pay to be gone. Afternoon Diners Flo, Ed, Jan, Brent, Tin Can and I will have a please.

Tin Can, funny you showed up today! Happen to be working the PK2000 GP7 you helped me with! Dragging 34 B&O coal cars on the main line with a C&O RSD 2 has a helper. VA Health Care. Good News I have lost 2.5 pounds in 14 days. This morning my Glucose was only 84!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dietitian All most as confused now as I was before I saw her! 1 Said I was stariving my self! She thinks I need 40 carbs for each meal so 120 a day. If I have 20 carbs my sugar level goes too 200? 2 Need to eat more whole grains and fruit. I agree with that! 3 Set new Glucose Goals.

Wants no higher than 130 when I wake up and no more than 160 after eating 2 hours later. All so my liver will make Glucose if it think's my sugar level is low if I don't eat.

(that explains the level jump with out eating) Bad VA Health Care? Seems it is cheaper to Burie Vets than keep us a live!

1 Due to budger cut backs I cannot get more than 50 test stips for 90 days. Unless I am on Insulin? If it was under control I be OK with that, but it was not with the last A1C beinging 8.7! Thought the goal was to stay off Insulin? 2 Due to budger cut backs I may not beable to get anymore Diabtic Shoes unless I am on Insulin? Funny, when I joinded the Military while we still had boots on the ground in Vietnam I was not told 'You get free healht care for life unless it cost to much!'

Boy that would be a selling point for me! Some what PO Ken Posting again! Evenin Folks! Janie I could use a cup of decaf for now, please. Ken, I was thinking yesterday that from what you were saying that you actually may not be getting enough carbohydrates and that results in the high blood sugar levels. As I diabetic myself, I know that what counts is finding the right balance for you. I have talked many times with my doctor as to why much of the time my sugar is higher when I get up in the morning than when I go to bed at night.

He told me that is because when you wake up, the liver gives you a shot of sugar to get you moving. If your body doesn't react by being able to give you enough insulin, you end up with a high reading.

Yours has been way out of whack and you actually may be at the point of needing to go on insulin (like my sweet little kitty here). He will actually come and get me if I forget to give him his needle. The syringes they have today are very comfortable I hear. Not hard at all to draw up and give yourself your meds. Blackie doesn't flinch at all when I give it to him avery morning. Then your insulin and other supplies would be covered.

As far as your coverage not giving you enough test strips. Anything I might say about that would be VERY political so I won't!!! I will say that my insurance will only cover what is covered by Medicare and they (to save money) make you buy your supplies at specific places. There is only one place around here. That is MallWart. I do NOT shop at that place, PERIOD!!!

But I can tell you that the supplies are not actually very expensive. I just looked up what I pay for 2 vials of test strips (100 total) at the small locally owned pharmacy I use. They gave me the test kit free as well. The lancets are also quite inexpensive. Well worth making sure you have and use the system!

I mean, that is what? A couple six packs of beer? Which you shouldn't be drinking anyway, and if you are there is your problem! Good luck with this! Oh, the whole grains and fresh fruit is what I exist on these days. Works well for me. And get rid of the Artificial sugar if that is what you use.

Change to using Stevia as it is a natural product that will not raise your blood sugar. Most artificial chemical sweeteners will trick the body into releasing more glucose into the bloodstream. Just my 2¢ worth. Again, works for me and I even reward myself with a donut once in a while (but cut out any other carbos when I do.). My A1c has stayed at 5.7 to 5.9 for the last 6 years.

Right where the doc wants it! 73 Edit: I take a combination of two drugs for my diabetes, Januvia and Metformin. It is called Janumet (50/1000mg) twice a day. Luckily I have had no side effects with the meds. JAMES MOON- I'm so sorry to hear about your stepmother.

I'm going to work with patients with dementia and Alzhimer's tomorrow actually, so I guess I'll have a bit of a first-hand look at what it is like to care for someone suffering from this awful disease. Best wishes in your time of grieving. However, very exciting to hear about your wedding anniversary- 50 years is a LONG time, no? Hmm, 50 years ago protests were everywhere about the Vietnam War.

We learned all about that in American History this year.Have an amazing time in England!! I've always wanted to go.

Be safe, too. FRRYKid- That's quite a collection! I've got maybe 30 engines and cars altogether, for me it's a constant wager between whether to get an engine, a building, track, scenery, so on and so forth.

I usually go with the engine, to be honest Sir Madog- It rained all day here. I personally don't mind rain- in fact, I enjoy it quite a bit and find it rather peaceful. Windy, rainy weather is probably my favorite, besides snow (which I almost never see down here in sunny Carolina!!) Dave/hon30critter- I want to join a club, but the closest one to me is 3 hours away. Glad to hear you're getting a new clubhouse though! There's something very catharthic about starting anew in a fresh space. Best of luck!

Tom- So sweet to hear your words about the first time you saw your wife. Sounds like you two are very happy. Angelob6660- Oops! I didn't even see it! Let me go take a look.

Tin can- new york is another place i've always wanted to see. Central park sounds like a dream. Cudaken- glad to hear your health is doing well. Good health is SO important- like my mom always says.

Take care of yourself, friend! Updates on me: with the lack of layout work to do, I've been tinkering with my models. See, with Bachmann Thomas models, often small details present in the characters seen on screen are absent on the models- and of course, any Bachmann thomas modeller will tell you that making the model train counterparts as darn-near close as possible to the intepretations seen on screen is SO important. It adds a whole 'nother level of fun past just keeping the model the way it is out of the box- and makes me feel a little bit better about the fact that I'm really just messing around with toy trains from a kid's program but I'll move up to the big leauges when I'm ready. I've also been tinkering with the idea of DCC'ing the bachmann models once I get a layout set up. All it would require is a bit of soldering and plenty of guides on how to do it correctly already exist, so why not?

But all in due time.I'll try to get you guys some before+after pics of my models so you can see the kinds of mods I do. Personal side of things really nothing to report. Been volunterring at the food kitchen this week, and like I said earlier tomorrow going to volunteer at a home for elderly patients with memory problems. I'm both excited and nervous about it. Will provide updates about how my experience goes tomorrow.

On a bit more /somber/ note (somber because I'll admit, I'm not a huge fan of camping- but love the outdoors!), I'm going to be M.I.A. For next week. I'm going camping with the Boy Scouts- in fact, I don't think I've mentioned this, but I am actually an Eagle Scout. I achieved the rank a few months ago, on February 25, 2017, two days after my 16th birthday.

It's my greatest accomplishement and I'm so proud to be able to tell people about it! That's all for now. Talk to everyone later!

Stay well~ Griffin. My heartiest congratulations on attaining Scouting Highest Rank!!!

I have spent the last 43 years of my life as a Scouter and tell people that I hang around Scouting today because every once in a while I get to shake hands with an Eagle! (Extends left hand to you sir!!!) I am now on District Committee, one of our council camps Properties Committee, and serve as Commissioner for two Scout Troops. My oldest son is an Eagle Scout. That you have attained this honor tells me a lot about your sir! Remember that becoming an Eagle is not the end, but just the beginning! Give Ken a long snort of the lo-cal Hi Test, the aged stuff, 27 days now--- Ken, You must have had the same recruiter I did, and like you, I believed what I was told. Kinda like the tenured professor I hired as a deck hand--he found out that tenure is only as good as to how long your department is funded.

No funding, no department, no check. Any idea as to how many openings there are for individuals who have a Doctorate in Elizabethan English?

Not many--- One of my nephews went to Harvard for eleven years, has a Doctorate in the Manx language--(Isle of Mann, in England) I believe there were/are, two positions worldwide for this teaching position, guess who had a rude awakening--- He started in the field of Entomology, didn't think much of my suggestion of becoming a Forensic Entomologist, a new field at that time. Guess what there is a worldwide demand and shortage for, with about seven openings for every two graduates? A few years back when I was put out on forced retirement from the Sheriff's Department I went to the VA to see if I could get some help with my heart meds. Filled out several pounds of paperwork, sent it off to DC, and was told that I made too much money for any assistence. (SS partial disability, period) I was advised by my doctor to file for full disability, and was blessed to have a Vietnamese Army Major as the individual who reviewed my paperwork. (He was a Boat Person, and worked for the Social Security Administration in his new life, reviewing claims such as mine.) After a period of time playing, 'did you remember?' , I recieved my claim.

( I still smile a lot thinking about that) I have my medical supplemental through AARP, yeh-I know. All of my diabeties supplies are provided by them at no charge--I had been paying $1.05 for EACH test strip prior to that time,(2x a day). It was a big help. I did have to 'shoot up' for several months with insulin, there is a very small needle, shrouded, for wimpey people like me who have this thing about needles. Overcame the fobia using needles, but the only thing I never came to grips with were the black and blue marks left at the injection site. It looked like I had been run over with a sheeps foot roller, -with small feet. My doctor told me I could stop injecting insulin by loosing 50 or so pounds.

Done deal!!, 11 months later---It now looks like another 10-12 pounds and I will be able to stop taking Metformin. Along the way there were two other drugs I was taking for diabeties I was able to quit. Perhaps the worst thing was being told:'If it tastes good---you can't have it.' I will, on occasion, transgress.

I do watch my portions however. My suggestion to you, this is what I did, is change your diet gradually, like one week at a time, not somthing new every twelve months, I eat a lot of Japanese foods, veggies, sea weed, (got lots of that) watch bread intake, fish, wild game, (fortunate there also).

I now use alcohol(mine) to replace my hydrocodone at bedtime. Opiate users (long term, I have used since 1978) in this state have to sign away most of their constitutional rights to recieve any pain killers,(agree to random testing to make sure your blood shows use of opiates), I will not do that. Remember your former profession--when you hit the ground, you were already surrounded by the enemy. Anyone willing to do that will easily beat this curse. Good Evening, A nice, sunny day here, about 72F or so.

Had a nice day, went out for lunch with my wife's uncle, who is visiting from Victoria. He is a great guy and wish he lived a little closer. James, congrats on hitting your 50th. Have a great time in England. We always feel really at home there whenever we visit. Not much new here, except that we are seriously behind in planting the garden.

My wife wasn't feeling too well for a number of days and she is the 'person in charge' when it comes to the garden. Tomorrow I hope we can get most of the pots done and believe me there are many of them. Last year she planted 85 pots with flowers. I think we need to cut back next year in a major way as it is getting too much for us(her). I recieved the latest book by Ian Wilson today, Steam Scenes of Stratford. It is about the large shop CN had there in the steam era. Looks to be another great read plus many photos to help bring it all to life.

I will have to wait a while to read it as I have told myself, not until the garden is planted. We took our dog to the vet yesterday for his annual physical and rabies shot renewal. He is is good shape but hard to believe he is 8 years old now. We have been busy planning another adventure trip for next year and are trying to finalize it now.

Nothing else new here. Put me on the list of those on Metformin. I am pre-diabetic; and I am supposed to be watching the intake of carbs and sugars.

Very hard to do, but I am making the effort. Trying to keep the cokes (pop/soda) to one a day; or one sweet tea. More fruits and veggies; less bread/pasta. More exercise. Speaking of exercise. We got lots of rain while I was gone last week; grass went crazy.

I couldn't mow before we left, because we had rain then, too. I mowed our front yard, common side yard with my neighbor, and my neighbor's front yard.

I did his yard because he spends more time at his ranch in the hill country than he does at home, since he lost his wife to cancer two years ago. He got a notice from the city code folks last month, and I want to keep that from happening again. But it wore me out. Will weed eat tonight, and see if my back yard is dry enough to mow.

Contractor is supposed to come back tonight to finish our kitchen, which has been in a remodel/renovation for 2 months. I am actually very pleased, the job looks like new construction; and when finished, we will have a very nice, functional kitchen (oven that works; all burners on stove work!). Going to try to work on the sectional layout this weekend.

Need to finish up the wiring. I need to post some pictures, I have a photobucket account, but it takes forever to load one picture.

Any suggestions on another free photo sharing site? Hi, CN Charlie I wondered if you have the Dean Robinson book, too? Railway Stratford: Revisited.

I was contacted by a fellow named Simon Brothers from Powerline Films concerning a documentary he is producing about the history of the Stratford Shops. I loaned them some old 8mm film for the project and Simon sent me an autographed copy of Railway Stratford as a gift Here's more information about the shops and Dean Robinson's book. There's a trailer on Vimeo but I can not get it to play.

If you can get the video to run here's the link to it: Regards, Ed. Been MIA myself.

W**K has exploded. We are short about ten carpenters, plumbing crew, need several painters.it has gotten so bad that there is an add in the local paper $5000 sign on bonus for plumbers!!! Know anyone needing a job send them to Northern Virginia. We cannot get enough people!

Ed actually this was taken late in the evening.: ) Yes it the sun does shine here most of the time we have been either blessed or cursed depending on your perspective ( needing water for wells and hay/farming or needing dry weather for construction work) with an unusual amount of rain this spring. Thanks again for posting!: ) Tin Can - Can you change what you eat to get off of the meds? Angel - Why a two hour nap in the middle of the day? Because of the heat? Dave - What is the statud of the leadership of the club? James - Sorry for the loss of your step mother and grats on making to your 50th. That is very special Ricky W - Yep making steady progress.

I have had the most amazing luck. This week a neighber donated landscape stone for my building, he also came over and graded the area around the building. My carpenters install/supply company gave me the siding material, my trucking company hauled a lot of dirt to the building for free.Been blessed! Howmus, Garry, Ulrich, Ken. My youngest daugther set me up last night with a joke and I took the bait! Daughter - Daddy why did the chicken cross the road? Me - Why honey?

Daughter - to see the idiot across the road Daughter - Knock knock? Me - whos there Daughter - The chicken Me LOL TTYL TGW.

Afternoon Diners Flo, Ed, Brent, Jan, Tin Can and I will have a in a frosted B&O Mug please. Day Off Front Felt so so. Blood sugar was at 108 at 9:00 AM. Had a apple at 10:30 AM and started my running.

Around 1:30 I was feeling a little blan so I bought some deep fryed chicken livers, had 4 of them. Got home at 2:00 and had to cut the front grass! Checked my BS at 2:50 (messed up the time in my head) and it was 216. From it being to soon to check again and with what Jan said maybe with in reason? Ray I feel the same way! I will waite to see what happens wih the VA as far as test strips. Galaxy was right about test strips at Wally World and while I don't like Walmart I will buy from them.

Jan Yes Airborn was ment to surrounded. But, this more like frendily fire! Current Diet While I will add some fruit I think I will stay the corse.

At one point I weight around 360 pounds. For the last few years I have hovred betten 287 and 284.5. Yesterday I was down to 281.7 I hope to be in the 270's! Knees are starting to hurt some, not bad on a scale of 1 to 10 I say 1.5.

So I need to drop down more to help the knee's. Hard To Beleive I use to weight 225 and only had a 34 inch waste! Anyone here at the dinner have any PK 1000 F units they might sell cheap? I would love to get another one or two so I can get my Monon F uints all running again. I don't want to go E-Bay happy again! Spent well over $30,000 on E-Bay. I was a Power Buyer!

James My condolances, my mother is 89 and has Alzheimers. She believes, or at least says, everyone else around her in assisted living is not right mentally. So she won't associate with them.

She eats her meals and goes back to her room and watches TV all day. She can still beat my rear end in Scrabble, but she can't remember the name of her great granddaughter and every time I pick her up in my car that's is 3 months old, it is brand new to her. Horrible disease.

Tried to add some old stock Walthers decals to my F&C gondola and they fell apart. Oh well, I am not much of a rivet counter so I will just heavily weather the end of the car and be done with it. My wife is a diabetic and she tells me in her doctor's office, there is a diabetic educator who has free samples of the glucose monitors and test strips. I have no idea if they give those to the VA or not, but it would be worth asking. I am crabby lately. I live in a community that has waterfront on the river. The status symbol is to have a golf cart, which tears up all the grass on the way to the water because are soil is sand.

Half the homes have them. The officers of the home owners association are the worst. They either have kids, who will drive back and forth 20 times a day or stretch golf carts, elevated like an off road pickup truck with knobby tires and chrome wheels. They blame any grass damage on a little old lady in the neighborhood who circles the neighborhood once a day, at the most.

Meanwhile we have split rail fences through part of the common property that have been shattered by falling trees and old age and they have done nothing to repair those fences. We even have a fence and deck guy who is a neighbor who repairs them at cost. The Board is only interested in planning the next party. Thanks for letting me vent. Evenin' folks! Janie, how about a cup of fresh brewed decaf?

BigDaddy, yep, for me the trigger was definately weight. When my wife died 30 years ago I weighed in at 230lbs. My wife was always trying to get me to drop 20 or 30 lbs. (ah, she said, for health reasons.). I weighed about 210 when we got married. I was always (after puberty hit) tending to be a bit overweight, but a lot of it was muscle. I was a weight lifter and excercised a lot as per what my voice teacher wanted his Basso operatic leads to be able to do to perform.

Being in shape is important to a singer, BTW. After my wife died, I went bad!

In the first two years I ballooned up to 320 lbs, a 90 lb. That is when I went diabetic (Also the big reason I never found another wife. Dated some really wonderful ladies, but ah. Shall we say, nothing much ever happened.) It has taken me years to get back down to about what I weighed back 30 years ago. Right now I'm at 235lbs.

And still want to lose another 20 at least. With the arthritis, spinal stenosis, and just getting older, it is the best thing I can do for myself.

I eat almost nothing these days it seems (at least compared to what I used to), and little by little the weight is coming off. Ken, the biggest thing you can do to control your diabettes, and ease your foot problems would be to lose weight.

I know you already know that, but also know I am pulling for you to get healthier and get those things in control! Did find some time today to sit out in the sun with my shirt off. Oh that is doctors orders for my psoriasis.

It really does help get rid of the leisons. Did a bit more weeding of the raised bed gardens to prepare them for planting. Need to get everything done for that by the end of the weekend. Also had to drive to Canandaigua to take care of my sister's kitties while she is gone. Stole about 10¢ worth of electricity to charge the Volt while I was there.

That gave me 3 more miles range. I am getting about 4.5 miles per kW of electric at the moment. The MPG readout (based only on the total miles driven and how much gasoline has been used) says my lifetime average for the Volt is 136mpg. I can easily drive to my sisters house and then drive home all on electric (and still have only used half my range). A lot nicer than the PiP was in that reguard. The solar panels on the roof just hit (a few days back) 20,000 kWh of power since they were installed. That means my cost for the sytem is about 1/3rd payed for (been about 3 years and 6 months since they were first switched on).

Payback at what I currently pay for a kWh will be about 10 years total. I am waiting to hear about what my family is doing this weekend.

I know we will celebrate Father's Day a week early (as my son has to work that weekend), but Granddaughter #1's birthday is on the 13th. And we are not sure when that will be celebrated because of another kid's birthday in the family. Hope you all have a great night out there! Good Morning! Just dropping by to say hello!

I am not a happy camper these days. A number of health issue keep me down in the dumps at the moment. Add to that the rather unpleasant, but typical 'summer' weather we have here and you have the perfect mix for a cute little depression.

Talking of weight, I am on a slow path of reducing my weight. I am down by about 5 lbs.

Since March, which is OK, as I am not pushing it. It´s more a general change of food habits than a diet. Petra has a degree in ecotrophology and knows quite a lot about diets and also diabetes. Most of the diets don´t work long term, if you go back to eating your 'normal' fare after you have reached your your goal.

You´ll be pretty quickly back from where you started. The best diet is to eat the right amount od the right food and give your body a regular work out. The right food certainly does not include or, nor any soft drinks or deep fried food.

I am afraid that pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs are not on that list, either. Better to stay away from any of the fast food places, as well as any 'industrially' made food, which contains more fat and sugar than anyone would want to know. Poor Ken - now just about all of us have dumped a ton of well-meant advice on you, but I promise you will get only one more from me!

Buy a bicycle and do 10 miles on it - each day! I should listen to my own advice! Edit: I got tops - so your favorite poison is on me today.

Make that mineral water for Ken! Good Evening, Been on and off the site, cleaning up around the house and working. My Final grades came in on May 30th, here they are, CMT 235: A HUM 1: A CMT = Computer Maintence Technology HUM =Humanities 51/60 units completed so far, I can now relax till fall, 3 more semesters to go!!!

I've been thinking about adding an Amtrak train to my collection, leaning towards using a couple of older Walthers Superliners and a 73' Budd Baggage in the Phase IV Scheme. It would be something like this, 1. 73 Budd Baggage 2. Superliner II Transition Sleeper (crew only) 3.

Superliner II Coach 4. Superliner II Diner 5. Superliner II Sleeper (passengers) I can always add more cars to it later, but this is perfect to start with, (yes I know it looks pike-sized!) Here are the locomotives I'm thinking of using, The AMD 103 P40, or the legendary F40PH, I'd love a Dash 8-32BHW from Atlas, but every internet search engine and ebay lists them as Sold Out!

What do you guys think? Which one shall I buy? Hi YGW: I'm guessing that you meant 'status'. We have three officers still in place.

Our Secretary and our Treasurer are both regular attendees at the meetings and are doing their part very well. The Vice President has recently landed a good job but it is out of town so he has announced that he won't be around much. Too bad because he has a lot of spirit in him. The President has resigned without explanation. All he said was that he would see us in September. I do know that he has recently come out of retirement to teach courses for the CNR and that is keeping him very busy. We do have a couple of other very active members who have been heavily involved in securing the new clubhouse and looking after all the details like insurance that are involved therein.

FWIW I'm not worried about the survival of the club. In fact, now that we have a decent clubhouse I think we can actively start recruiting new members, and if we handle things properly, the fact that we are about to start building a new 'permanent' layout should create a lot of interest.

Morning all Dave - I am glad to hear that the club is moving in a positive direction. Do you think there is someone who will step up to take the President position?

I am sure you are right once the club is in the building more people will show up. When we have building programs at our church the members get excited and then the numbers increase. People want to be a part of a growing organization. Ken - I may have one. I will check this weekend. AtSF - that's not the right question The question should be how many of each should I get?! Howmus - I had a similar experience.

While my wife was ill and in the process of dieing I put on 90lbs. Still trying to get it off. It is wonderful that you have been able to loose the weight what happened to your qoutes? I enjoyed reading them.

Ulrich - I am sorry you are in the dumps is there anything I can do to lift your spirits? What gauge are you in?

What engine manufacturer are you running in your layout? Henry - can you approach the fence guy and bring the subject up in a meeting? Gotta get back to w**k TTYL YGW.

I keep trying to reach for the ladder to climb out of the dumps, but each time I think I´ve got my feet onto the first step, someone seems to move it away. Life has decided to pass by me, so all I can do is to wait for it to stop and pick me up again. Regarding your question, there are only two manufacturers selling Swiss HOm (for 1,000mm gauge) locos and cars. One is Bemo in Germany, which is rather expensive, and the other one is Ferrosuisse, A Swiss manufacturer selling handmade brass locos at prices you can get a good used compact car for. Bemo locos are in the range of $300 to $360 for electric locos, and steam locos are in the range of $700 and upward. The steamers are handcrafted metal engines and very nicely done, more collector´s items than locos you´d want to wear down running on a layout.

Way too expensive! Better to be happy with what I have got! The past couple of weeks have been a mixed bag for me. Three weeks ago we took a whirlwind trip to Anaheim with the grandkids for a day. Good idea--going to Disneyland with the grandkids.

Bad idea--going on grad night. From about 3:00 on the place just kept filling up with HS seniors. Still a memorable day for the grandkids. The following week the grandkids (and their parents) came to our house for a week. They live in Idaho so any visit is at least a week.

It was great to have the here, but it was relaxing to have them go. The day they left I started getting sick--bronchitis. With my history of asthma, bronchitis hits me particularly hard. It has been a week and I am still not much better. I have had an on-again-off-again fever ranging from 102 on Monday to about 100 this morning.

I hate being physically compromised! There has been some progress on finding the exit ramp to my current 'retirement.' I posted for a job at the State of Arizona that looks as if they lifted the description and requirements right off of my resume. I also have a first interview (phone) with a telecom company that has real promise.

Finally, on the train front, I had the trains running for the grandkids. I think I have told you that my son has six kids, the oldest is eight and the youngest is one, and has a pair of three-year-olds. I am always amazed that these three-year-old will watch a train go around for fifteen minutes and only leave when it is time for dinner. Layout is L-haped, N-Scale layout that is 11' x 14', so it takes a little more than a minute for a complete loop. Well, off to rest for a while. (Anxiously awaiting the chaos that is page 5.).

Good morning all from the mostly sunny West Coast. Ken, thanks for the beers, I see they are lined up on the bar. I'll take them now. It has been a busy week. Last fall my wife broke/dislocated three fingers in a horse accident. She does not heal well at all, as she tends to get huge amounts of scar tissue wherever she has been repaired. So she had surgery in the fall and then because of the scar tissue, had a second surgery in early May.

So on Tuesday she came in and said one of her fingers (she is still in a cast) has dislocated again. So in to see the surgeon and he booked her in for surgery the next day (Wednesday) apparently the scar tissue actually pushed her finger out as she healed even though she had pins in for a couple of weeks after the last surgery.

So I drive her into the big city, drop her off and go home. She is taken upstairs at the end of the day and waiting in the hall outside the OR with another patient who has had all his IVs put in when all of a sudden over the intercom a 'CODE??? Comes across. An accident had occurred with multiple serious trauma patients coming in.

Well, the guy had his IVs removed and my wife and him were taken back downstairs and told to go home. When I arrived to pick her up, the Helicopters were coming in thick and fast. My wife and this guy were the last two of the day and got unlucky. She said the OR floor went from nearly deserted to full of staff in minutes and was really impressed with the organization and how smoothly it all happened. They had five ORs ready to go in minutes.

So I took her back this morning and she's booked in the OR at 11:00. My daughter had an interesting day yesterday at school.

A kid in the group she was with had a major seizure. The first teacher on the scene was a complete basket case so my daughter took over (she's 15) and instructed a kid to call the ambulance and then she proceeded to help clear his partially restricted airway by getting the kids to roll him on his side and she pulled his tongue out.

All those days in the Vet hospital OR helping Mom with middle of the night emergencies have made her a very calm, cool capable person when bad things happen. Dave, any more thoughts of taking the president's job?

I think you should give it a go if you get the chance. Of course, it might turn you off Model railroading forever. I am really impressed at those of you that have been married for so many years. It took me forty years to find someone I actually wanted to marry.

I am glad I waited for the right one. There were others I considered marrying, but I wasn't 100% certain about it, so didn't. My wife and I have been married 20 years and were really good friends for 14 years before that. I was too busy taking care of my bucket list to want to get married early, as well as working all the hours I could.

So I now have the perfect wife, a comfortable life, and a really worn out body. Two out of three ain't bad. Son worked on 'Hit The Road' (a new TV series) with Jason Alexander a couple of days this week. He thinks it will be a good show and had a lot of laughs on set. Had what I thought was a good question for Filosophy Phriday this week, but with all that has been going on, I can't remember what it was. Have a great weekend, all the best to all. I'm still seriously considering it.

In fact, Dianne and I have been discussing getting a second vehicle so I can get around on weekdays. We are considering either a Chevy Volt (hybrid) or a Chevy Bolt (all electric). Right now she is driving a Honda Odyssey about 95 kms or more each day.

The cost of gas is about $75.00 per week plus wear and tear and maintenance. That would cover more than half the cost of owning and operating a Volt for four or five years. I'm looking at four or five years because that is about how much longer Dianne has to go before retiring. The biggest negative for the Volt is rather poor reliability ratings when compared to other compact hybrid vehicles, but at least the Volt won't leave you stranded for hours if the battery dies. I haven't made a final decision on going for the Presidency yet. I will see how it goes at our meeting next Tuesday. Buying a car just so I can do the job better seems to be a bit excessive because I just don't need a second vehicle otherwise.

Well, we did go to the casino in Wheeling this Wednesday morning. Pretty bad day for us as we were in & out kind of fast. Usually we win enough games to keep playing for a couple of hours, but not this time. I really don't go expecting to win, but it's nice to be able to play some.

But the big disappointment was the buffet. We go all the way down there because of it. Especially the roast beef. It was always tender & flavorable, but they have dropped it from the lunch menu.

I mean, everything else is very good, but the beef was the drawing card for me. I doubt if I will drive all that way anymore.

The only uptick for the day was on the way home when we passed the spot where we usually railfan & caugh Norfolk Southern's 'Virginian' heritage unit going east. No chance for a photo though because of traffic.

Spent a couple of hours railfanning this morning & caught 13 trains. The 3rd engine on one was Norfolk Southern's 'Pennsylvania' heritage unit. Didn't get any good photos of it however. There's something about that color that causes a lot of reflections from the side panels. Maybe I'll get lucky someday & it will catch a stop signal.

Wishful thinking I know, but hey, one can always hope. Probably will get up early tomorrow & do some weeding in the flower beds, & then cut the grass in the back yard.

Temperatures are suppose to start climbing into the 90s, & I don't handle that well anymore. Hoping everyone will have a nice weekend & stay safe. Good evening all. Flo - I will take the RBF that ken so graciously paid for. Ken - Thanks for the RBF! I know what you mean about 'guarding the store' lately.

YGW - Free stuff is always good! James - If you want snow, just come to my area of NWPA. Our 'snowstorms' are usually measured in feet. And no, we don't close down everything until it is really snowing! Ulrich - Sunny days are always better!

Nice pics also. Trains - Nothing new to report.

Next Saturday evening the Lakeshore Railway Historical Museum, located alongside CSX and NS in North East (the town) Pa, is holding their annual 'Night at the Museum' event, where they stay open all night long for railfans. I am hoping for good weather, as I am planning on going for at least some of the night. Something about a night-time photo shoot of trains is just way too cool too pass up. And that will be a very interesting day, as there is a train show in Titusville, at the OC&T train station that day as well. So, my plan is, train show, w**k, then museum. Yes, I am crazy! (If anyone else will be attending either event, let me know.

We could meet up and chat for a few.) W**k - Had a great Friday, then guarded the store today. I sold one thing all day. Weight - All the talk of losing weight has me reporting where I stand - I need to lose another 10 lbs to be back to my high school weight. I am a light-weight, compared to some, but I only stand 5'6' high, so, under 200lbs is good, my goal is back around 155-160. Yes, that does make moving fridges, stoves, etc. Around at w**k interesting!

Hope all are well, and all have a good evening! Evening Diners Flo, Ed, Jan, Brent and I will have a please. If Joe is enclined give him a as well. Joe323 Lion I swear my wife is a Vampire. Soon as I got home she sucked the life out of me! All she talks about is what hurts, what she wante us (means me) to do, what she is worried about and what she wants. No wonder I don't want to talk to her any longer. Work Front Good thing I enjoy reading!

But over all I was a good day for me. If I did the math right I made a extra $110.00 in spiffs with only 5 customers! VA Health Care and Blood Surgar Front. 1 Well the sort good news. I will get some extra test strips so I can test my blood sugar level twices a day. Better than twices a week!

2 Vision sure has changed, not sure if that is good or not? Can see Computer Moniter better with no glasses than with them on. Before I had to use the bio-focals? Trains are running great, Ken. Evening Diner?

Flo, wake up! I will have a and if any other folks show I pay there Bar Tab.

Work was as dead as the dinner today. To be honest I was fine with it being dead. Blood Sugar was normal and I felt like the walking dead. Just takes a while to get use to lower Blood Sugar levels. Dropped my Town Car off to get the A/C unit going. It is being converet to R134. Hope Bob does not find any other problems.

Just cannot handel the heat like I could when I was 50 and younger? Did a Quick BBQ and it is done. Hey everyone. WHAT A GREAT SATURDAY AND SUNDAY! Well, before I say what the weekend consisted of.guess where I was? Answer: Horseshoe Curve.

I took my first ever Amtrak trip this Saturday. I went with nine other people. We boarded the train at Greensburg PA, and went east to Altoona PA- home of the horseshoe curve.

It was such a great smooth ride. I got food in the cafe car, and got to see us pass over the curve onboard. We then got off in Altoona, and walked to the museum there. We spent two hours in the museum, and a decent bit in the newest addition: The Harry Bennet roundhouse- housing several pieces of equipment, including a GG1 and the state locomotive- the K4 1361. We then walked to Nickolettas for lunch.

Excellent turkey club. Then half of us went to see the Altoona Association of Model railroaders club.1.31 miles from the amtrak station. Amazing layout, and the fact they just got an N scale layout was another wonderful addition. We then boarded the train back at 5:26. We were about 2hrs late, but that was because of a freight that was put ahead of us. Then today- My new favorite nascar driver got his first career win in the cup series- Ryan Blaney driving for the legendary Wood Brothers team. Now I just have to hope the Penguins win tonight, and this will have been the best weekend in a long time for me!

Good Morning! Partly sunny, but mainly quite cloudy day today! I am not feeling well, as my old ticker is acting up. While the BP is OK at 120/70, the heart rate at over 100 is not. With my heart attemting to win the Capetown Races, I feel tired all the time, but can´t find any sleep. Some people ride a roller coaster for kicks, but some folks are just as happy riding the strretcars of Lisbon, which appears not to be too different, according to the following video!

And some more pictures of my layout. Have a good day! Good morning all Hobby front - FINALLY!

The extrior siding is FINISHED HURRAY! I am so glad to be done with that phase of the project. I have already started the next phase which is paint prep and caulk. I will do the roof in the fall when it cools down.

W**K front it is gonna be HOT today. 80 degrees by 8am!

Supposed to feel like 100 degrees today. Ulrich - I watched the your video this morning. I was amazed at the steepness of the streets and I wondered the trolley cars that are jacked up on one end do they lower and jack up on the other end when going up a hill the opposite slope? I also noted that the trolley cars were tagged - I just dont get that, why someone thinks they have permision to paint someone elses property. I also thought it absolutely amazing that cars were running amongst the trolley cars. That would make me VERY NERVOUS! Thanks for sharing the video.

I hope you feel better soon. Henry - It may have been workiers shooting nails vs bullets. There is a tool made by many several manufactures that actually shoots case hardened nails into concrete or steel with a 22 load. The tool company commonly used around here is 'Ramset' and 'Hiliti' They can shoot 3 1/2' nails into concrete, shoot shorter ones into steel. ROR - Some kids you have there. You have every right to brag on them - well done raing them!

Are you still feeling under the weather? B - Did you find a place to move out to?

How are you doing? Ken - I am sorry I forgot to look this weekend. I had three grand children, two nephews at my house this weekend plus my three kids!

I had to come back to w**k to get some rest! And not much to be had here: ( Angel - Did you post a photo the other day of layout progress? I was scanning through quickly and I thought I saw some of your work?

Joe 323 - tell us a little about yourself and your modeling interest Ricky - Free stuff is good in this case: ) Free poison ivy would be a bad thing Thanks: ) You are getting back to your high school weight? That is some accomplishment! That is a great goal to set for one self! I am very impressed. Tom - How long of a drive is Wheeling WVa from you? When did 2017 get here??? Heck it will be 2018 before I know it!!!

Dave - What issues is being reported on the Volt that they say it is unreliable? Batman - How is your wifes fingers? Very impressive that your daughter was able to handle the emergency Jimmy - Did the Penguins win? Ulrich - I watched teh video this morning Do the cars jack up on the other end when going up opposing grades?

I see tagging is a world wide curse. I do not understand how someone can mark up property that does not belong to them.Hope you feel better. Nice photos of your RR.

How did 2017 get here so fast! It should still be 1980s! Flo, can I get a refill for my coffee please? Nice bright sunny day here in the Finger Lakes Region of NYS. Current temperature is 85°F with a high mid afternoon around 89°F. Checking on the Solar Panel output a couple days ago, I realized that they have now propduced 20,100 kWh of power and that means they are a little over 1/3rd. (Well actually they are paid for, but that is where the payback stands.

They will pay for themselves in about 10 years total at the current rate of electricity here. I am on 100% green power when I buy electric from the grid as well which is cheaper than the mix from most ESCOs.) Got up early and drove over to my #1 Granddaughter's school to see recieve a reading award this morning. She officially turns 10 years old tomorrow. The family celebrated Father's Day yesterday as my son has to work all next weekend. I brought some 'Top Sirloin Steaks' for the cookout as I got them beautifully trimed at the local Tops Market where they had them on sale for $3.95 a lb. The Scoutmaster of the handicapped Troop I work with clued me in and told me to stop over on Saturday when he was working and see him personally. Got home from the award ceremony at school to find I had an email from my SIL who is taking turns watching my sister's kitties while she is down South visiting an old college friend of hers.

She wanted to know why I asked if she had been over to feed the cats yet (Yesterday). Seems she put the wrong day down on the calendar at her house. So the cats didn't get any food yesterday! She should be over there right about now, I hope! They should be OK as long as they didn't get into anything that could hurt them. I pick up my sister this evening at the Airport. Hope you all have a great day!

Frankly, not a whole lot if I just left the $$$ in a Standard Savings Account. A few dollars a year. However, the system was an investment that would, if I was to sell my house right now net me several thousand dollars. Colt 1911 Serial Number Search. It is better than money in the bank as far as I'm concerned. Remember the system loses value very slowly as it should be still producing good power 40 or 50 years from now.

In NYS as long as the system produces less than 110% of my total years need for electricity (mine was sized for 70%) I am not taxed on the value of the array for property taxes. Frankly that investment will earn me a whole lot more $$ than that money would make sitting in the bank making money for the --------- Billionairs!!! And it is the right thing to do for planet earth!

Same sort of thing that you are doing with your hobby barn. What if you just put that $$ into a savings account? As it is the building of the barn raises the value of your property and you will get at least some of that investment (minus the tax increase for your property) back when you eventually sell the property.
