I absolutely love the Tenda W311U Network Adapter.it costs way less than the big name brands but does not cheap out on the quality. It picks up wireless signals from a router on the second floor of my house for my computer in the basement! Hydraulic Symbols Autocad. When you order it, make sure to use the CD that it comes with to set up the connection. I made the mistake of not doing this because my computer automatically recognized it, but then I was only getting a very weak signals.
Once I used the CD, my signal shot up to full capacity and my internet was lightening fast. My profession needs reliable internet connection, using different Operating systems and constant speed. Hanggang Kailan Kyla Mp3 Download. And after my laptop's Intel wireless adapter decided to give up, I had to get these USB wireless devices to connect to the internet and so far I have tried 3: NETGEAR G54/N150 - takes 10 - 15 seconds to connect after turning laptop on (and thats a looong time!) - maintains constant high speed - does not work in Linux OS - Used for 3 months and died TP-LINK TL-WN823N - connects instantly after turning laptop on - Does not maintain high speed, sometimes disconnects from internet (have problems buffering youtube videos sometimes! And that is SLOW connection) - Works in Linux OS - Used for 1 month and is now lying in a corner, would give it away for free. Tenda W311U - connects instantly after turning laptop on - maintains constant high speed - Works in Linux OS - Using since last 6 months, still working Hope this helps!
Size of USB (Thumb/Flash/Pen) Drive--plugged into tower--nothing else plugged in around it I've had this adapter for a few days, and if it lasts a year, it will prove a great purchase. I think it will. The only problem I encountered is that it recognizes networks but could not acquire a network address automatically and had to be manually assigned (on different networks using different ISPs and gateways as well). It may just have been an issue with the networks but the incidents were limited to this unit. On a wireless N connection w/ MAC filtering, at ~10ft (from router/gateway) I would get 4/5 signal bars, ~15mbps on speedtests and actual download speeds peaking north of 2mbps on a 20mbps advertised connection.(For dirt cheap wireless in a residential situation, this was fantastic; for example, downloading a 700mb video takes ~6min at this rate) Of course, your connection will vary, and thus the expectations. On a 3mbps advertised connection, at ~20ft on a wireless G w/ WEP, 3/5 signal bars and getting actual download speeds peaking ~300kb/s (again, great--getting full advertised rate on speedtests) I do not know the max. Signal range of the adapter, but, unless you live in a mega-mansion or insist on avoiding civilization, it should be sufficient.
(It could still work, I just don't know. Yet) Your experiences may vary but I haven't encountered any other issues, such as overheating, etc. It seems to be a well made product and is easily worth how little it costs in comparison to some of the more recognizable brands and their respective models. I wanted the cheapest wireless N solution when I bought this but so far the only thing economy about this adapter is the price. I would strongly recommend it. After moving and arranging the house, I found that I could not get a wired ethernet connection to my midtower.
I went to Microcenter where I had initially thought of getting a PCI-Wireless adapter instead of one using USB thinking it would be more stable and faster, but then I saw this Tenda USB on the shelf at just under $10.00 so I picked it up. When I got home, I plugged it in and to my surprise, even without internet connection and without touching the manual or the CD that it came with, Windows 7 was able to set up the drivers for it in seconds. I was pleasantly surprised with the performance. My initial prejudices was that it could not be as good as the ones sold by Linksys, Netgear, Siig and other well known name-brands as I have never heard of 'Tenda'. But this worked very well. If you are considering getting a wireless adapter by Netgear or Linksys, I would highly suggest anyone to head to their local store and buy this one to try it out first. It is capable of b/g/n and can be picked up for ~10 dollars.
I could not imagine how differently one by netgear or linksys would perform.
