I decided to give it a go because I’ve been lifting seriously for more than 18 months now and have started to feel slightly like I’m just going through the motions, using routines my trainer and I developed a year ago, and not really pushing myself or progressing. Two weeks of high intensity full body circuits, with 3 sets of 15 reps of upwards of 15 different lifts. A shock to the system, but one that’s kept me challenged and motivated - and looking forward to the gym again. Already my abs and arms are looking more cut - and there are ten weeks to go! But probably the most impressive impact for me has been on my eating. The eating plan is totally clean but tasty and varied - and since the emphasis is on eating every three hours, I haven’t found myself hungry yet! I’ve learned to satisfy my sweet tooth with healthy alternatives, like my or black bean brownies, and to save up my major indulgences for my weekend cheat meal. The only thing I’ve totally failed at is her ‘no alcohol AT ALL’ rule - although I’ve been trying to keep drinking to my cheat meal.
A girl’s gotta have some release, right?! So far I would totally recommend BE to amateur bodybuilders who want to refocus and challenge themselves, and start looking a little more cut instead of constantly bulking. However, my one caveat is that I don’t think this is a programme for total beginners. The workouts don’t actually show you how to safely and properly perform each lift - they just give you the name of the exercise and expect you to know what it is. Even I’ve had to google a few!
But if you’re just getting into lifting, you could download the programme and get a trainer to take you through it a couple of times till you know what you’re doing. I’m really excited to start Phase Two tomorrow. It means going back to splits (ie tomorrow I’m focusing on chest and triceps) but with four sets of each, instead of my usual three, and quite a few more exercises than I’d normally fit into my routine. She has 14 (e-book) trainers that are easy to follow and come with a meal plan. I’ve used her plans as a guide. I started with Becoming Extraordinary 12 week trainer, on this trainer I lost 15 pounds and dropped 2 sizes while building strength and lean muscle. This trainer is best done in a gym facility. The program is built on 4 phases, with each phase increasing in your strength and endurance, but trust me when I say this, it will be like no other program you have ever done!
She will push you, but you will feel powerful and accomplish things you never thought you could! The meal plan is easy to follow and includes TONS of recipes. I personally used it as a guide rather than following it precisely, but for those who like to be told exactly what to eat this is great for you! It really teaches you about nutrition and how to pair it with your activity. With BE I trimmed down and started to get lean muscle, with Magnify you i built so much strength and endurance and increased my overall lifting by 20-30%. I build alot more muscle and definition.
With this one as well I used the meal plan that is included as a guide and adjusted it to my body. This is a 12 week trainer, and is best done in a gym facility. This trainer is both challenging and rewarding, a definite step up from Becoming extraordinary.
I would recommend this trainer after doing Becoming Extraordinary or if you consider yourself to be at an intermediate level of fitness. I won’t lie, its not easy and even though each workout is anywhere between 15-35min, you will sweat your ass off! I was honestly shocked at the difference it made in only 6 weeks. The program is 6 weeks and can be repeated several times. I purchased it in January and I still do it.
